God Bless America. The words are everywhere.
Pleading, wishing, hoping that somehow he will overlook our failures, forgive our shortcomings and bless us once again. But I wonder whether the words are a true prayer or a mere wish, a desperate longing of the heart or a passing fancy.
In this generation, so much has been lost. Clever minds have found new words and new ways to call evil good and good evil. They have misused freedom and redefined the intent of our forefathers. They have replaced freedom of religion with tolerance and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness with the right to choose. They have removed prayer and Bible reading from schools and banned the display of the TEN COMMANDMENTS from public places. And, the costs have been great.
Our nation is in peril. Our families are under attack. Our marriages are in trouble. Our children are home alone. Our churches are impotent. Our
institutions have lost their greatness. Our leaders are popular, groomed for television and blind leading the blind. Little wonder the banners are posted everywhere. If God does not bless America, is there help from any other source?
